MUJI to open first store in British Columbia this summer

Japanese retailer MUJI announces the opening of its first store in Western Canada. The store will be located at Metropolis at Metrotown shopping mall in Burnaby, the largest mall in British Columbia and third largest in Canada.

With 7,770 square feet of retail space, this will be MUJI Canada’s largest store. The opening is planned for this summer 2017.

“Since we opened our first store in Canada in 2014, we received many requests from Vancouver and we know that people have been waiting for us,” says Toru Akita, president of MUJI Canada. “We prepared carefully in order to meet expectations. We are extremely excited to finally bring MUJI to Western Canada. While we know we already have fans in Vancouver, we hope to also share our philosophy with people who don’t know us yet.”

With the goal of making people’s daily life comfortable and pleasant, MUJI is globally recognized for its high quality products that are functional and well designed, but at the same time simple and reasonably priced. The Metrotown store will offer MUJI Canada’s full range of merchandise including household goods, apparel and food.
