We’re thrilled to introduce our first MUJI Community Market, to be hosted at MUJI Robson Street this October!

This weekend, Vancouver-based sustainable brand @ChopValue and minimalist home style designer @MindTheMinimal will be joining us to host a pop-up market to feature their local-made, home decoration products to our MUJI Community on October 24 & 25!

ChopValue will introduce their new modular shelving system called SMĪLE: A climate positive conversation piece like no other – their most sustainable, carbon neutral, minimalist design that is both functional and beautiful. Made from 4,276 recycled chopsticks and construction steel that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill, each SMĪLE shelf is carbon negative — gathering the raw materials and building your shelf stores more CO2 from the environment than it takes to make and deliver it!

ChopValue will offer an exclusive set of SMĪLE branded coasters to anyone who supports their SMĪLE project on Kickstarter at the event.

Mind The Minimal will bring a selection of their best selling planters and their newest design which is in collaboration with another local artist in Vancouver – MTM X MAMEYO.

When concrete meets leather, an industrial yet Scandinavian design is the perfect finishing touch for your modern-day home. With the concrete planter and leather band, it brings out a new and innovative upgrade to enhance your plant collection. Mind The Minimal’s newest concrete planter design is paired with a leather band, choice of three colours, and with the option of embossing an initial to make it extra personalized.

We want to invite everyone to the MUJI Community Market to support our local artists and small business partners in Vancouver, BC. Make sure to come by and say hi!

ChopValue was founded with the intention of leading by example in making the circular economy the norm. To date, we have recycled over 26 million chopsticks into innovative high-performance sustainable products. Through process engineering, design, and storytelling, we have provided value to a neglected but culturally relatable resource by creating a viable business. Our Microfactory franchise concept defines the term “made local – wherever you are,” as we source, manufacture, distribute, and employ within local communities.

Mind The Minimal started as a simple vision to combine the elements of concrete and simple aesthetics.
With the two elements together it creates a unique and distinctive design that portrays the effortless side of beauty for your modern-day home.

All of our designs are made in small batches through the process of pouring, sanding, and painting.
