  • Characteristics

    The fibers of linen, made from the flax plant, are said to be especially strong compared to other natural fibers. One of its properties is its increase in fiber strength when it gets wet. We hope you will enjoy seeing the changes to its deep and soft texture as you wash and use it.

  • Growing environment

    Flax is grown carefully in a natural environment which has large temperature swings between day and night. Since it is a cold region, strong and supple linen is grown.

  • Organic linen

    We have started to use organically grown linen in some of our clothing products. Together with our manufacturers, we grow flax without the use of any artificial fertilizers or pesticides.

Living with linen

Washing

Linen is a material that becomes stronger when it's wet. Because of this, it can be washed very easily over and over again in a washing machine. However, bleach and whitening agents may damage the fibers and degrade the color of the fabric, so please refrain from using them.

Drying

By stretching it out and smoothing out the wrinkles the subsequent ironing will become easier. As the fibers of linen have hollow cores that absorb and expel liquids, it will dry in well-ventilated places before you know it.

Ironing

For best results, first smooth out small creases on the reverse side, then strongly iron the front. Use a cloth in between for items you do not want to become glossy.

Storing

Linen is best stored in a cool and dry place. Also, if it is not well ventilated, mold may grow, so please avoid storing it sealed in plastic bags for prolonged periods of time. It is recommended to gently wrap it in thin paper to prevent dust from accumulating.
