Unlike synthetic materials, cotton does not absorb oil on the skin excessively, so you can feel comfortable wearing the innerwear throughout the year.

Features with a side seamless design to bring extra wearing comfort. To prevent irritation, care labels and tags are printed on the inner side of fabric for men's and ladies' innerwear while woven outside for children's wear.

綿と農薬
世界の農薬使用量の約1/4が使用されるといわれているほど、綿の栽培には大量の農薬を必要とします。つまり、綿の栽培はそれほど、時間と手間がかかるのです。そして、大量の農薬が土地に滞留し、生産者やその周辺に暮らす人々、生物に多大なる影響を与えることは想像に難くありません。
つくる人にも良い素材
無印良品は「感じ良いくらし」の実現をめざして、ものづくりを進めています。もし、私たちのつくる商品の原料を生産している人たちが危険にさらされていれば、それは本当の「感じ良いくらし」の実現にはなりません。私たちは環境や生産者にやさしい持続可能な栽培を目指し、3年以上農薬や化学肥料を使っていない土壌で栽培された「オーガニックコットン」を使っていくことを決意しました。
生産者とつながるものづくり
しかしながら、現在のオーガニックコットンの生産量はコットン全体のわずか1％未満。農薬を使う通常のコットンと比べると、オーガニックコットンの収穫量は作付面積あたり70％程度になってしまうためです。
これを解決するため、無印良品では環境や生産者、その周辺に暮らす人々、生態系への影響も考慮して、さまざまな取り組みを行なってきました。
オーガニックコットンの生産過程を知り、原料の大切さに対しての思いを深めることは非常に重要と考え、2014年には商品開発者が実際に世界各地の産地へ訪問し、シーズンにより種付けや収穫を経験しています。
そしてあたりまえに
こうした取り組みが身を結び、2018年にほぼすべての衣料品の綿がオーガニックコットンとなりました。2019年からは商品名についていた『オーガニックコットン』の表記さえ外しています。
オーガニックコットン畑を広げていくために、2021年にはTシャツ1枚の販売につきオーガニックコットンの種2つをインドの生産農家の方々に無料で提供する取り組みを始めました。
あたりまえにオーガニックコットンを使用することを実現した私たちは、使う人にもつくる人にもやさしいものづくりを、これからも目指していきます。
