
Marinated Japanese Naganegi (Leek)
Japanese leeks marinated in a white wine or sake-based soup for a simple yet deep flavour.
Ingredients(2 servings)
- Japan Saitama Fukatani Naganegi
- 1 piece
- Salt
- Proper quantity
- Vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon
- Sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon
- Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon
- White wine or sake
- 1/2 tablespoon

Directions (approx. 15 minutes)
- Cut the leek into 7 cm lengths. Mix salt, vinegar and salt to make a marinade.
- Heat the frying pan with olive oil, pan-fry both sides of the leek till browned. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Pour the white wine or sake into the frying pan and stir-fry the leek, then add the marinade and let the leek soak in the marinade for around 3 minutes and enjoy.
