The Making of MUJI Products – Textiles

We welcome you to join us in the talk event by Ms. Mieko Nagasawa (General Manager, Apparel Division/Planning & Design Creation Office, Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd.). In the talk, Ms. Mieko Nagasawa will share on 3 main topics that will intrigue your thoughts on MUJI Textiles, covering Found MUJI – Textiles of India, the ideology behind the making of MUJI products, as well as the usage of Organic Cotton, one of the most important natural material used for MUJI garment.

MUJI was founded in 1980, starting with the sales of food products and daily necessities, which further expanded to clothing line and other genres. 37 years on, MUJI continues its expansion in Japan and globally throughout the world.

In July 2017, Singapore saw the opening of MUJI’s flagship store. Through the viewpoint of product development, we look at Found MUJI India Fabric, and explore the connection between MUJI and India culture through textiles, and our effort in using organic cotton in the making of MUJI products, all in hopes of deepening your understanding of MUJI.

Topics covered:

  • Found MUJI (Textiles of India)
  • Ideology behind the making of MUJI Products
  • Organic Cotton
