Many of MUJI products are born from a keen observation of various lifestyles, which are then further enhanced through customer feedback. One such product is the Polypropylene File Box.
In 1996, the File Box was developed to serve one purpose – organizing documents. Available till today, the translucent series represents its very first release into the market. Thereafter, subsequent product developments saw variations in shapes, sizes and colours expanded.
Through time, however, one thing remained constant – MUJI’s commitment to “keeping the shape unchanged since its beginning”. This meant that every piece developed was based on the same module. This gives the assurance that File Boxes bought today can be nested, combined or stacked together with File Boxes bought 5 years ago.
In this exhibition, we are breaking normality and rediscovering unlimited ways which we can use the Polypropylene File Box. Many are storage ideas contributed by MUJI customers. We hope you will leave feeling inspired and even contribute more creative methods yourself!
