MUJI Flagship Store in Tainan

Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan and the beginning of the history of Taiwan, is known for its abundant historical sites and cultural richness. MUJI will open a flagship store here in this culturally and historically significant "ancient capital," offering “delightful living” solutions.

The largest flagship store in Taiwan, providing the most diverse services

MUJI is celebrating the grand opening of its Tainan flagship store with a floor area of 1,127 square meters, the largest MUJI store in Taiwan. The Tainan store will have the first “Café & Meal MUJI” in southern Taiwan as well as the newly launched “Open MUJI” offering custom-made furniture fabrics, inspiring "delightful living" ideas, and “MUJI BOOKS.”
Incorporating local colors into its business operations, “Café & Meal MUJI” adds the local delicacy of milkfish to its menu as a special offer item. In addition, the décor of the Tainan store blends in local elements such as traditional iron window grills—another example attesting to the diversity in styles and "delightful living" experiences that characterizes MUJI stores.

Open MUJI

“Open MUJI” is a space for events, exhibitions and performances, created to inspire more “delightful living” ideas. We invite lifestyle leaders, such as designers and chefs, to give talks or teach all kinds of classes at “Open MUJI.” We also introduce “MUJI BOOKS” for customers to experience whole new “delightful living” solutions through words in books.

Café&Meal MUJI

“Café & Meal MUJI” features healthy meal selections prepared with simple cooking to bring out the original tastes of the natural ingredients that are grown in natural environments with sunlight, soil and fresh water. The Tainan store even highlights a local dish—baked milkfish in black bean soy sauce and cream sauce, featuring indigenous delicacies: milkfish, water caltrop from Guantian and lotus seeds with green product certification.

Customization services

The Tainan store also offers Taiwan’s first customization services. Furniture arrangement advisors will be on site to provide professional assistance. Customization services will first be available for carpet, upholstery, tables and chairs. MUJI customers can thereby build their own “delightful living” space by mixing and matching various colors, materials and styles and adjusting sizes.

Found MUJI

Found MUJI takes everyday objects that have long been used in everyday life throughout the world and repurposes them to fit today's lifestyles, culture, and habits and reproducing them at affordable prices.
For example, the “BASQUE” series we are launching is from the Basque Country in the Pyrenees Mountain Region with a rich European history and culture. They are known for their distinctive dinnerware and traditional Basque stripes.

Living space

Built with MUJI’s classic storage products—stacking shelves/unit shelves, and decorated with Tainan’s traditional window grills, the MUJI Tainan store enables a more sophisticated and enriched display of living space scenarios for customers to have a real experience on the convenience and diversity MUJI storage products can offer.
