THIS WEEKEND’S VENDORS
Bean Pole Pottery – Kristen Patterson-Van Raden
Kristen Patterson-Van Raden got started with clay after her mother’s passing. Some of the last words her late mother told her were ”your eyes sparkle…you’re so kind…you make me happy…you are a star.” Patterson-Van Raden enrolled in a Community College ceramics class to preserve her mother’s words in the form of art, where she began receiving requests to create custom clay pieces capturing words and sayings from their loved ones. “I want the users of my pieces to feel that care and consideration through human touch is what each piece possesses. I feel like handmade work represents an investment in community, sustainability, beauty.”
